Workforce Development

AltaMed offers mentoring services for youth as a supplement to educational and occupational skills training available through our existing Workforce Development program. Technology skills training, career exploration, and leadership development are all benefits for the thousands who have formally gone through our Workforce Development program.

Workforce Development coordinates of all of AltaMed’s internships, including AmeriCorps and clinical placement. More broadly, though, it exists to promote the sustainable growth of AltaMed’s workforce, one day seeking to supply 10-20 percent of our employees, and aims to ensure that AltaMed is hiring from within the communities we serve with greater retention in mind.

AltaMed Workforce Development offers:
• Los Angeles County Youth Jobs – temporary employment opportunities for young adults between 14 and 24.
• Internships – career exploration opportunities for high school and college students, and young adults
• Career Development – training and employment opportunities within entry level health care fields
